First Reading, Ordinance No. 11-2022, An Ordinance Approving a Memorandum of Understanding with Alamosa School District Regarding Interoperable Communications |

Staff recommends that Council approve the ordinance on first reading and set for a public hearing on May 4, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.

| | | | | | | | Background:
The Alamosa School District has been encouraged to apply for a grant that would increase their interaction with public safety agencies. As part of the grant, public safety agencies must agree to the attached Memorandum of Understanding. Both the Fire Chief and Police Chief have reviewed the MOU and are comfortable moving forward. |

Does Council wish to adopt the Ordinance authorizing the Memorandum of Understanding with Alamosa School District?

- (Recommended alternative) Adopt the Ordinance to authorize the MOU.
- Decline to approve the moratorium and give staff further direction.

City Attorney will be available to discuss any legal issues pertaining to the Ordinance.

This MOU was requested from the Alamosa School District so they can apply for the SAFER Grant to increase interoperability communications. |
