ALAMOSA CITY COUNCIL
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION

Subject/Title:

Resolution No. 2-2022 - A resolution allowing the Cattails Golf Course Advisory Committee to select when it gives its annual report to Council.

Recommended Action:
That Council adopt the attached Resolution as presented.

Background:
Resolution 2-2022 is really "housekeeping" to the original wording of resolution (26-2019) which officially created the Cattails Golf Course Advisory Board. Specifically, regarding the Cattail's Golf Course Advisory Board's reporting of yearly activities to City Council. The original resolution stipulated this reporting occur in February at a work session or Council meeting. The new resolution removes the date restriction and allows the report to occur any time after the end of the golf season and before the beginning of the next season.  Closer to the end of the season (usually the end of November) makes more sense from an operations and stakeholder perspective. Therefore, Resolution 2-2022 is proposing to remove the February requirement.
Issue Before the Council:
Does Council wish to adopt the attached resolution?

Alternatives:
1. Adopt the attached resolution
2. Decline to act at this time and keep the reporting in February.

Fiscal Impact:
None

Legal Opinion:
The City Attorney will be present if there are any legal questions regarding this action

Conclusion:
Along with efforts to have all City advisory boards do an annual report to Council, this resolution allows for a more logical timeframe for the Golf Board to report on the year's business at the end of the traditional golf season.
